ABOUT GED ZAMBIA

GED Projects Africa Zambia (GED Zambia) is an entity registered in the Republic of Zambia and is wholly owned by GED Africa Limited. GED Africa is the ultimate owner of the rights to design, build and operate the GED Africa Route which includes the upgrade and Greenfields road construction from Kasomeno, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to Mwenda, Zambia, a modern 345 meter cable stay bridge across the Luapula River, and a one-stop border post between the two countries. GED Zambia was established to manage all aspects of project management and operations within Zambia including the partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and the contracting authority, Road Development Agency (RDA).

GED ZAMBIA’S SCOPE

GED Zambia’s scope involves upgrading 85 kilometres of the Chalwe to Mwenda road, as well as a
new 1.5 kilometer road from the national road (M3) to the future bridge site.

The construction of a new 345 metre bridge over the Luapula River,

A one-stop border post with the accompanying warehousing and parking facilities.

The GED Zambia office consists of a team of skilled professionals in the fields of engineering, stakeholder and community engagement and oversees all operational aspects of the project.

Zambia shares borders with eight countries in the South-eastern subregion which strategically positions the country as a land-linked transit hub to its neighbouring countries. The improved infrastructure and connectivity to the port of Dar es Salaam will help unlock Northern Zambia’s immense agriculture potential, improving regional trade and increasing the attractiveness of international export and investment.
